Colorado Grecian Kitchen

Resurrecting the soul of this kitchen was the project that got the rest of the house underway for a much needed overhaul. Long past some big family shifts & empty nesting, a renewed era of life changes where happening... and the house was begging to exist in a new way. What started as the inspiration to re-tile the floor, led to a complete gut, to the studs; a reworking and expanding of the footprint, spilling into the family room below (which was carpeted). Fully restored original cabinets (all-white bank) + custom cabinets (kitchen & family room). Glass backsplash tile. Beetle-kill "blue" pine incorporated liberally, as per the deep connection for the client. Greek marble in a herringbone for the kitchen floor, feeling like the silt of the beech. Aegean Sea-teal a strong anchor from home. Rainbow window film adds dynamic, ever-shifting jewels to this eclectic, historic home. The beginnings of a vast library was established in the family room, which wanted to double as a community-hosting space for creatives & writers. Tapestries & rugs were curated, spaces for art made, and attention to the lighting gave so much nuance than what was available before.
